TaeKwonDo is a form of aerobic training, a competitive Olympic sport, and a practical system of self-defense. We teach students how to avoid conflict. Equally important is the moral education we provide: Courtesy, Integrity, Perserverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. Moms and Dads: Why not make it a family event? Master Instructor Larry Voorhees, 6th Dan, is the Master instructor for all of the Voorhees Taekwondo family of clubs. Others on staff at PCCC include: Master Lane Swalve, Master Karen Collins, Master Deb Shaw, Master Nathan Boden, Mrs. Amy Ratekin, Miss Maria Boden and Mr. Mark Ratekin. Cost for classes at Voorhees TKD - PCCC are $35.00 per person, per month for each of the first two people in an immediate family. Additional family members can join for a total family package of $100 per month for everyone in the same household. Class tuition is due no later than the 15th of each month (checks should be made payable to the Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department). Or, simply come to a class on Monday or Thursday evening a little before class starts, and we'll get you signed up! |
